T.K.  & Twist ~
TK's an AKC Dual Champion
and a very silly stripey boy
who
loves to wave his paws!  His
daughter Twist is a multiple Best
in Field and Specialty BIF lure
courser!
How It All Began ~
Pippi (mSBOS DC Khani's Achtung Baby SC
AOM) was truly a spoiled princess; from
surveying her kingdom from her hilltop perch,
to relaxing in
a recliner, she stole our hearts
and was a wonderful ambassador for the
basenji breed.  We were told from the start that
basenjis are like potato chips... you can't have
just one!  It must be true - along came T.K. (DC
Devils Peak TW Call of Duty SC).

T.K. and Pippi became fast friends and
enjoyed running the Basenji 500 throughout
the house and yard. We lost Pippi to Fanconi
Syndrome December 2009, and T.K. spends
more time nowadays as a couch potato and
may hit specialty shows this summer.

In 2006 T.K. sired a litter at Tazamisha
Basenjis - which brought us Twist, a red
basenji girl (mBIF SBIF FC Tazamisha Shasta
Tiki Twist SC). Twist has her daddy's silly
attitude, spunk and desire to run!  Twisty is
major pointed but hasn't had as much success
in the show ring, so she may just stick to lure
coursing!

Then in 2008 came Petra... can you say
"oops"?  Clearly doG (and Pippi and TK!) had
other plans for us!  This funny girl keeps us on
our toes, and recently earned her first points on
her way to her AKC championship. Watch for
this one to follow in her Mama Pippi's footsteps!
RIP sweet Pippi. Our girl lost her
battle with Fanconi Syndrome

What is a Basenji?
Basenjis are better known as the barkless dog of Africa but are far from silent!
Most make yodeling or "baroo" noises and can scream like a baby should they not
like something, such as being locked in their crate.   "Bantu", meaning "native to
the bush", is also thought to mean "basenji" in some African dialects where natives
still hunt with their dogs today.  The Basenji is an athletic, intelligent dog that is very
cat-like.  It is a member of the site hound group and has a very strong prey drive
and desire to run.   Looking for an easily trained dog that hangs on your every
command and can run off leash at the park?  The Basenji might
not be the dog for
you!
The Basenji can be aloof with strangers and stubborn at times, but they
are loyal companions to the patient owner.
